Islay and the Southern Hebrides 6-nights

MV Glen Etive and MV Glen Shiel from £3,530.00 per person

Despite their close proximity, each island in the Southern Hebrides has a distinct personality, from the wild mountainous wilderness of Jura to the lush gardens of Gigha. Historically, the area was of great significance as “Argyll’s Sea Kingdom” from the 10th century. Sail in the wake of the "Lords of the Isles" who had a far-reaching influence over Scotland and beyond.

Islay is justly famous for its whisky distilleries and nearby Jura for red deer and George Orwell. Clusters of small islands, The “Slate Isles” and the Garvellachs provide idyllic anchorages and visits to small communities. The most westerly and remote island, Colonsay, is surprisingly wooded and fertile with fabulous beaches and scenery. As a contrast to the islands, the ever present highly-indented coastline of the Argyll mainland offers magnificent sea lochs and sheltered stopovers, such as Loch Crinan and Loch Sween.
