Experience the stunning scenic contrasts of the west coast of Scotland from the fjord-like sea lochs of the Scottish mainland and the picturesque islands of the Inner Hebrides to the far-flung, magical Shiant Isles, in the remote Outer Hebrides. This 10-night voyage through constantly changing coastal vistas gives a real sense of the unique geography and traditional communities of the western isles. Cruising from the Isle of Mull, drop in to the picturesque “Small Isles” of Rum, Eigg, Canna and Muck before heading for the Isle of Skye with the dramatic outline of the Cuillin mountain range ever present on the horizon. From the sheltered Inner Sound explore the coast of the Isle of Skye and some of the spectacular mainland sea lochs such as Loch Hourn, Loch Nevis and Loch Carron. From the northern tip of Skye, a two hour sea-journey will reach the “mini St Kilda” of the uninhabited Shiant Isles lying off the coast of the Outer Hebrides, with its magical outline and impressive basalt sea cliffs. Go ashore to absorb the haunting solitude of the islands, a haven for many thousands of seabirds.
