The Majestic Line crews get WiSe about wildlife watching

The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) delivered a WiSe course for our Skippers this week, with the rest of our crews, shore and office team able to observe so that they could learn. The Majestic Line is now a WiSe accredited company, which ensures a solid understanding amongst our crews of how best to approach and interact with marine wildlife and avoid any disturbance from our activities on the water.  As a WiSe operator we have agreed to abide by Codes of Conduct for the wildlife we view.  This promotes safe and sustainable watching of our precious basking sharks, whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals and seabirds that we regularly encounter on our cruises.  Pictured at Holy Loch Marina are Lauren Hartly-Mills, HWDT Science and Policy officer and Alison Lomax HWDT Director who delivered the WiSe course. From Left to right our Skippers receiving their individual WiSe accreditation are Relief Skipper Paul Bew; Robert Christie; Martin McWhirr, Ian Woollcott and Neil White.
