A Taste of the Hebrides - Glen Shiel
Liz Crampton
We just wanted to express our heartfelt thanks for the wonderful experience we had with the Majestic Line on the Glen Shiel in September. The crew - Chris, Katie, Neil and Keelan were fantastic and made us feel so welcome, cared for , and safe. The food was outstanding, each and every meal produced by Neil a culinary masterpiece, only the very best produce and cooked to perfection, from the lobster on the first night, the Tournedos Rossini on the second, and the halibut on the final night. This is without mentioning the cakes, the freshly baked bread to go with the light and lovely lunches and the fabulous canapés before dinner each night, and as for the porridge- it was also amazing! The weather was so kind to us and we had sunshine every day to enhance the beautiful scenery around the Isle of Mull. Our overnight anchorages were perfectly chosen by Chris in secluded little bays and the only time we experienced any choppiness was on our little tender going into Tobermory- which made for an exhilarating ride expertly skippered by Keelan who warned us of extra large waves on the way back! He also skilfully steered the tender into Fingal’s Cave - but unfortunately no Jayne McDonald with us to test the acoustics! Katie was at all times our little mother hen, making sure we all had everything we needed, including hot lemon and honey drinks for my friend with laryngitis. We at all times felt happy and secure and enjoyed the three days so much - a complete break from the stresses of everyday life- definitely an amazing experience to be recommended for anyone who wishes to get to know Scotland better.
