North West Coast Wilderness - Glen Shiel
Clare Robertson
A week on from our North West Wilderness cruise, the whole experience lives on in fond memories. How lovely it is when a friend phones up to hear about it. All over again I can recount the wonderful experiences we had. Ten passengers, four crew. Each individually interesting and easy to be with, yet also a well-knit group. The light, colours, shapes, lines and views from the boat of sea, sky and land were breathtaking. Dolphins, seals and a visit from two Minke Whales delighted. The bird watchers amongst us had plenty to feast their eyes upon too, including Puffins and Eagles. The places we went like Muck, Canna, Rum, Skye, Inverewe and Cape Wrath ranged from gentle and peaceful to craggy and dramatic. History, geology, beach combing, lighthouses, castles, sea lochs, flora and fauna all featured too in what became, for me, the very best of holidays. Huge thanks to Neil the Skipper, Alan the Engineer, Will the Chef and Kerry the Bosun and to those behind the scenes who made this happen.
