Castles and Clans of Mull and Glencoe

Ann Seed

The Glen Massan is the perfect quirky friend for six magical days at sea - six days which bombard you gently with experience after experience of breathless scenery, gourmet delights, fun, adventure and relaxation. A small cruise boat she may be, but this earthy little vessel sails head and shoulders in every way above any big cruise ship I have ever been on and she is crewed by the most amazing and amiable team afloat. Glorious weather afforded an agreed change in itinerary from the more sheltered waters of Loch Linnhe to those around Iona and Staffa, and the exhilarating venture on foot into Fingal’s Cave was an unforgettable and stunning highlight of our fortunate change of route. Chef Michael was a wizard, conjuring up superb and classy classic meals with such care in his small galley, Bosun Robert was an absolute gem and nothing for him was too much trouble, Engineer Darren was a pure delight, and Captain Martin a remarkable and sure-handed skipper, a savant of the seas, with an endless supply of facts, figures and fascinating stories. All the crew inspired such confidence and were such great company that mere words of thanks to them do not seem enough for what turned out to be the most beautiful holiday I have ever had.
