A brilliant week from start to finish. Glen Massan is a charming old girl with tons of character. The cabins were spacious and well appointed with a simple but effective layout. The saloon was a great focal point for passengers and we quickly got to know everyone. The crew was splendid and made everything easy and enjoyable. Chef Damian on his first trip went above and beyond to create some wonderful and varied dishes, especially looking after passengers with differing dietary requirements. Portions were plentiful without being over-facing and Damien was happy to modify dishes to cater to different requirements. Bosun Michaela was a joy to be with. Bubbly, ever, smiling, and eager to make everyone comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Engineer Danny had an old head on young shoulders and tackled any issues head on and nothing seemed to faze him. Helpful, knowledgeable and hard working. Captain Dougie was a Sean Connery lookalike with a calm, measured attitude and his many years of experience shone through like a beacon. The whole crew was a real credit to Majestic Line and should be commended for their efforts. The cruise, whilst weather affected, was supremely interesting and left plenty of time for exploring the numerous places we visited. Safety was clearly a top priority when embarking and returning from shore trips. The trip wasn’t without engineering issues but the fallback plans and alternative resolutions were handled quickly with safety and comfort a top priority. We were sorry to leave but after a great week on board with new friends, we will surely be back soon. We cannot recommend this cruise line highly enough.
